State of the Used Car Market

Used car prices are still high, even though some models have seen prices stabilize this summer, but for the most part it remains a bad time to buy a car. Sometimes we have no choice and need to buy a car regardless of market conditions. If you find yourself in this situation contact us, we will arm you with the information you need to get the best possible deal.

Not surprisingly, prices continue to climb for electric and hybrid automobiles due to high gas prices. This market segment is up 30% since gas prices have surged. Electric and hybrid prices are extremely overinflated; this happens every time gas prices are high. The saying, “What goes up must come down,” rings true in retrospect. Gas prices will come down, they already have begun to come down a little, and the cost of electric and hybrid vehicles will come down too, but buying now is not financially prudent. I have followed the hybrid market for many years and see this happen every time. On the other end of the spectrum, automobiles that get poor gas mileage are the best deals right now. If you have been in the market for a big pickup truck, SUV, or sports car that doesn’t get good gas mileage, now is the time to buy.
