Hollywood Car Museum Las Vegas

On a recent trip to Las Vegas, my wife and I decided to check out the Hollywood Car Museum. Located several minutes from the Las Vegas strip, this car museum has over 100 vehicles to view. Price is $20 per person, kids 16 and under are free with a paying adult. Cash is the only acceptable payment, but don’t think about asking for a receipt. When I did, the old grey-haired gentlemen proclaimed, “I can’t do that, what am I supposed to do? Write it on a piece of paper for you?” I was surprised that any business today could operate as a cash-only business, but when you’re in the gambling capital of the United States life may appear out of the ordinary. If you are looking for a discount, you can go to their website and get a coupon for $5 off each ticket.

The museum is a steel building, nothing fancy, but yet it gives off a Hollywood type of vibe. Inside, there are many cars from the James Bond movies, a legendary Batmobile, General Lee from The Dukes of Hazzard, Herbie the Love Bug and so many more famous cars. The condition of the vehicles ranges from excellent to very rough. There are many cars that are not driveable and were obviously used as extras and prop cars, such as the Mitsubishi Eclipse and RX-7 from The Fast and the Furious movies. When movies and television shows are produced they have several cars made identical to the main one for backups. For example, The Dukes of Hazzard television show destroyed over two hundred and fifty 1969 Dodge Chargers during the course of 147 episodes.

If you are a car enthusiast or a cinema lover, this unique car museum is worth visiting while in Vegas. There are many different types of vehicles, including motorcycles, cars, and trucks. Next to each vehicle, there is a description with pertinent information. It’s one of the least expensive things to do while in Vegas, if you have the time, take a look.
