In late February, the All Star Monster Truck Tour was at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. Kimberly and I decided to check it out. I’ve been to a few monster truck shows in the past, this was a small show in comparison. It really couldn’t be much bigger, the Maverik Center is fairly small and better suited for hockey games. The space available for the show was barely adequate, with that being said, we did enjoy the show.
It’s impressive how powerful these massive trucks are, allowing them to catch air off ramps and obstacles in a very short amount of space. My advice to anyone contemplating going to any monster truck show is to bring ear plugs, most of these trucks are extremely loud, especially for children. Also keep in mind that indoor venues need to be ventilated due to exhaust fumes. If it’s cold outside, it will almost be as cold inside, dress appropriately.
If you enjoy motorsports and have never been to a monster truck show, I strongly suggest you go. It's a very unique event, and it’s amazing what the trucks and drivers are capable of. Our favorite was front wheel stoppies, being able to have control over such a big vehicle is very impressive. Take a look if you get the chance, you won’t be disappointed.
